Mr. Owens is a principal of Landmark with over 27-years of construction materials testing experience. Mr. Owens has a Bachelor’s degree in geology. He is experienced in geotechnical investigations and laboratory analysis. He has been involved with project management, cost estimating, and quality assurance from the beginning of the project. Mr. Owens has organized and developed quality control/assurance and procedure manuals which have led to accreditation of the firm by ASSHTO. He is also responsible for company operations within a three-state region. Certifications include NICET Level IV Highway Materials and Professional Geologist.
Russell L. Owens, Vice President, Geotechnical Manager, P.E. Utah, Arizona, Nevada
Mr. Owens has been responsible for geotechnical and geological investigations throughout the Intermountain West and completed geotechnical investigations for design of St. George’s Replacement Airport, the East and West access roads, and the water tank. Mr. Owens has a Bachelor’s degree in engineering geology and a Masters’ Degree in Civil Engineering. Mr. Owens has over 27-years of experience in foundation analysis, embankments, slope stability, subsurface investigations, and earthwork. Mr. Owens has completed numerous geotechnical studies for airport, large industrial, commercial, and residential projects. He has performed various distress studies and evaluations on retaining walls, and slopes. Mr. Owens is licensed in Utah, Arizona, and Nevada.
J. Randy Guymon, Operations Manager, Field Manager
Mr. Guymon is responsible for project management, supervision of field testing personnel, and quality assurance for field and laboratory testing programs. Mr. Guymon brings over 15 years of construction materials testing experience and management to the project. He is proficient in concrete, soil, and asphalt testing in both field and laboratory settings. Certifications include ACI Level I and WAQTC (License Number 160498) Sampling, Reduction and Density and Concrete Strength Testing.
Riley J. Champneys, Project Engineer, P.E. Utah and Arizona
Mr. Champneys has a B.S. in Civil Engineering and has 8 years of experience in engineering, construction, inspection, laboratory testing, and materials testing. He is the QA project manager for the St. George Replacement Airport. He has also been responsible for QA/QC testing for the Brigham City Municipal Airport Phase I, II & III Expansion. Mr. Champneys has performed a wide array of geotechnical investigations, including residential, commercial, airport, and highway projects. Mr. Champneys is a licensed Professional Engineer in Arizona and Utah. Certifications include ACI Level I, profilograph, and Nuclear Gauge Certification.
Jeramy Egan, Senior Technician, Field Manager
Mr. Egan has 15 years of construction testing experience in Utah and Nevada. Mr. Egan is currently working as a field manager for the St. George Replacement Airport. He is proficient in concrete, soils, and asphalt testing and has experience with many large grading projects. He has extensive experience in special inspections in the area of masonry, steel reinforcement, fireproofing, high-density polyethylene pipe and liners, and geotechnical synthetics. Certifications include WAQTC (License Number 160170) Sampling, Reduction and Density and Concrete, ACI Level I, structural masonry, and reinforced concrete.
Steven Wells, Laboratory Manager, E.I.T.
Mr. Wells has over 11 years experience in field and laboratory testing and has successfully completed training and certification through the Arizona Technical Institute, Asphalt Institute Mix Design Technology, and UDOT Super Pave Mix Design (SMD). He is well versed in all aspects of general laboratory testing procedures and has been involved in soil and aggregate proficiency sample programs receiving very high ratings. His certifications include WAQTC (License Number 160994), Concrete, Asphalt and Aggregate, ACI Level 1 and nuclear density gauge. Under his direction the Landmark laboratory is accredited for soils, aggregate, concrete, masonry, and asphalt testing by Federal and State agencies.
Matt Owens, Field Technician/Special Inspector
Mr. Owens has over 6 years of construction materials, laboratory testing experience and special inspections. Certifications include WACTQ (License Number 161271) Concrete and Sampling, Reduction and Density, ACI Level I, Nuclear Gauge Certification, ICC Special Inspector in Reinforced Concrete and Masonry, Prestressed Concrete, Structural Steel and Bolting, and Structural Welding. Most recently Mr. Owens has worked on the new Courthouse Building, the WCWCD building, and the Ash Creek Special Services building.
Kalvin Bowler, Project Manager
Mr. Bowler is responsible for project management and supervision of field testing personnel. He has worked as a Field Manager on the Replacement Airport coordinating testing, sampling, and report preparation. He has over 37 years experience in different aspects of the construction industry with a focus on mass grading and underground utility installation. Mr. Bowler is certified to operate a Nuclear Gauge.
